Home of Hope is an orphanage in Uganda that looks after abandoned children with disabilities. We had a chance to interview Edith, the director and founder of this amazing place, and hear her story. We hope this video gives you a little glimpse of the amazing love and joy that is found in Home of Hope, despite the pain and struggles.
In November 2013, Schoolies Revolution took 14 students over to Uganda to experience life in a third-world country. One of the most impactful places we visited was Home of Hope, an orphanage for disabled children. This video contains footage from our visit, as well as some of the students sharing about their experience of the place.
Schoolies Revolution is a project of HopeBuilders International that takes Year 12 students overseas for a 3 week trip to an third-world country, to be confronted by the reality of poverty and help make a difference. HopeBuilders International is a registered non-profit organisation in Australia that seeks to 'break the cycle of poverty' by caring for orphans and widows. Their main projects are currently in Uganda and Rwanda. HopeBuilders supports Home of Hope, who are a registered non-profit in Uganda.
