This is the story of 12 year old Virgilio, who had his right leg amputated below the knee after his leg became infected following an accident. He is desperately in need of additional surgery and a properly fitted prosthesis so that he can lead a fuller life.
In Uganda 1 in 5 persons over the age of 5 years has a disability (Demographic and Health Survey 2006).

Isolated, Excluded and Forgotten: The work of CBM
This short film highlights the problems of disability, poverty and the vulnerability of youth. The young boy in the video needs an operation on his leg and a new prostheses which his family can't afford. Poverty exacerbates his disability, he is being forgotten. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with disability is the basis for the laws of Uganda. The laws were enacted to protect this boy. His rights rights are being violated. He is being discriminated against, he is being forgotten. The poster says:
