Boaz Muhumuza is the Disability Rights Program Officer for Eastern Africa at the Open Society Foundations. Muhumuza grew up in Uganda and lost his sight to retina blastoma at a young age. He graduated with a law degree from Makerere University in Kampala and holds a postgraduate diploma in legal practice.
In Uganda 1 in 5 persons over the age of 5 years has a disability (Demographic and Health Survey 2006).

Discrimination: The Rights of Persons with Disabilities
In this video Boaz Muhumuza talks about how people are disabled by barriers. Being blind does not mean that he isn't a thinking a feeling human being. If barriers are removed he can lead a normal life. The poster of this video says:
